Figure 5.2 from Quantum Organizations
Extending the Process Chain
A Brief Description of the Figure from Quantum Organizations
The process chain can extend far beyond the traditional boundaries of an organization: Comprehending the logic of quality handoffs and the role of different kinds of feedback should help all members see the kind of cross-boundary cooperation that is mandatory for success in a global marketplace, upstream and downstream. Note: The quantum circle in the center of Figure 5.2 symbolizes that every process chain begins and ends with the final customer -- from anticipating customer needs to meeting or exceeding customer expectations. Besides external customers and suppliers (emerging from outside the organization), there are internal customers and suppliers defined as handoffs between members or subunits.
